Sayframe privacy policy
Last updated August 10, 2026. Sayframe is a local-first voice-to-text app with an optional hosted transcription service. This page explains what stays on your Mac, what leaves it when you choose Sayframe Cloud, and how to control your data.
Local-first dictation
Everyday dictation can stay on your Mac. Local speech models, local or bring-your-own-key cleanup, meeting capture, settings, and the transcript Library remain under your control on the device unless you choose a hosted feature.
Sayframe Cloud
Sayframe Cloud is optional and requires sign-in. When you submit a recording, Sayframe uploads the audio to our hosted service and a configured speech-to-text processor. Staged audio is deleted after processing. The resulting transcript can remain available to your signed-in devices for up to 24 hours, then its text is removed from our job store.
Account and service records
Your sign-in provider gives Sayframe a provider identifier, email address, and optional display name. We also keep session, subscription-status, usage, and security records needed to run the trial and service. Account deletion revokes sessions, removes the provider link, and leaves your name and email anonymized. Limited billing, usage, and security records may remain where needed for legal, fraud-prevention, and operational obligations.
Transcript Library
Recent transcripts, imported files, retry state, and recovery records can be stored locally so you can copy, export, delete, or retry work. Sayframe does not need an account for free local dictation.
Anonymous analytics and support
Anonymous product analytics are off by default. If you opt in and analytics are configured, Sayframe uses a random installation identifier and coarse product events, never recordings or transcript text. If you contact support, you choose what email, device details, screenshots, logs, or excerpts to send.
Purchases and deletion
Paddle handles direct subscriptions and Apple handles App Store subscriptions. Sayframe receives entitlement and billing-status records, not your full payment-card details. Deleting your Sayframe account does not cancel an active subscription; cancel it with the store or billing provider first.
